Sponsorship Program
The Port of Portland is an integral part of the communities where we operate, and we are committed to playing an active role in supporting and enhancing the businesses and communities in our region. For more than 20 years, the Port has supported the community through the sponsorship of events, programs, and activities.

A prosperous region where quality jobs, multigenerational wealth, and access to markets are equitable and shared.
Program Goals
The Port receives more sponsorship requests than it can fulfill. Port sponsorships are prioritized based on organizations and activities that that support community impact in the key areas:
- Workforce, Career, and/or Leadership Development
- Small Business Development
- Environmental Leadership
- Community Economic Development
- Placekeeping and Culture
Submission Procedure:
- Review eligibility criteria carefully
- Complete the Sponsorship Request Application, responding to all questions
- You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been submitted. Please email sponsorship@portofportland.com if you do not receive a confirmation email.
Applications are reviewed once per quarter. Your application will be reviewed in a pool of applications based on the quarter in which your event is scheduled. Please note the application deadlines based on your event date below.
For example, if your event is scheduled for November 10, it falls in Quarter 1. The deadline for submission would be August 1st, and you should hear back by September 9th. If your application is submitted early, we’ll hold onto it and review it during the appropriate quarter. Thank you for your patience as response times to applications will vary.
Quarter 1: Events Happening October 1 – December 31
- August 1st - Application Deadline

Quarter 2: Events Happening January 1 – March 31
- November 1st - Application Deadline
- December 9th - Selection Announcements
Quarter 3: Events Happening April 1 – June 30
- February 1st - Application Deadline
- March 9th - Selection Announcements
Quarter 4: Events Happening July 1 – September 30
- May 1st - Application Deadline
- June 9th - Selection Announcements
The Community Impact Sponsorship Budget for FY 2026 (starting July 1, 2025) is $100,000.
Sponsorship awards typically range between $1,000 - $5,000.
